Scan IDs on every phone in the bar for $24.99 a month.
OfAge reads the barcode on the back of a US license in about a second, even with no signal, and logs the scan. You pay per venue, so the door phone, both wells and the manager's phone cost the same as one.
Staff read the color from across the room.
Each result fills the screen and plays its own sound and vibration, so nobody squints at small print in a dark, loud bar.
Age 34 · Pennsylvania
Turned 21 eleven days ago. Out-of-state ID.
Age 19. Entry is fine, skip the wristband.
Under 21. Age 19.
The alert repeats until someone acknowledges it.
Owners choose which flags run. Out-of-state, recently turned 21 and the vertical under-21 card format can each be turned off.
From the front door to the inspection.
At the door
- Works offline
- Scans run on the phone. Logs sync to your other phones when signal comes back.
- Light for dark rooms
- Auto light dims when it sees glare and brightens when nothing reads. A prompt tells staff to tilt the card.
- Barcode checks
- OfAge checks age, expiration and whether the barcode matches how that state encodes its IDs. Sloppy fakes fail here.
- Bluetooth scanners
- Pair a handheld scanner for a busy door. Phones keep working alongside it.
Behind the bar
- Patron categories
- Mark someone Regular, VIP, Watch or Banned. Only a manager can ban a patron or override a result.
- Notes that follow the ID
- Pin a note like "cut off at 11 last Friday" and staff see it on that patron's next scan.
When someone asks
- A log nobody can edit
- Staff can't change or delete a scan. Corrections go in as new entries, so the record holds up.
- Compliance exports
- Pull any date range as a PDF or CSV for an officer, your insurer or your own books.
- Incident reports
- Start a report from the scan with the details filled in. Where your state has its own form, OfAge fills that one, like Pennsylvania's PLCB-2027.
- Staff on their own phones
- Each person signs in with a PIN. Remove someone and they lose access on every device at once.
One price covers every phone at the venue.
Most ID scanner apps bill each device. Busy bars run four or five phones, and the bill grows with every one.
$24.99a month
- or $239.99 a year, per venue
- Every feature, unlimited phones and staff
- 14-day free trial
- Extra locations $14.99 a month each
With 4 phones you'd keep about $1,344 a year.
Per-device estimate uses $33 per phone per month, the low end of published per-device plans. OfAge uses the yearly plan.
Questions
When can I start using it?
We're in beta with venues in York County, PA. Join the list and we'll email you when OfAge is on the App Store and Google Play.
Can OfAge tell me an ID is real?
It tells you when an ID fails a check. A well-made fake can pass a barcode check, so staff should still look at the card and the person holding it.
Which IDs does it read?
US driver's licenses and state ID cards. Passports come in a later update. OfAge doesn't scan military IDs.
What do you keep about my patrons?
Only what your venue needs for its records, and we never sell it or use it for marketing. The log keeps the last four digits of a license number. Addresses delete after 72 hours unless they're part of an incident report. The privacy page has the rest.
Do I need a liquor license to sign up?
No. Any business that checks IDs can sign up with its name and street address. You can add a license number later so it prints on your reports.
